1Overview
Taro CS Fundamentals is an offline educational app covering Computer Science topics. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect any personally identifiable information directly. This policy explains what data third-party services embedded in the app may collect automatically.
2Information We Collect
2a. Data stored locally on your device
We store the following preferences only on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
- Selected app language
- Selected code-sample language
- Last viewed topic tab
2b. Data collected automatically by third-party services
The app integrates the following Google/Firebase services, which collect data automatically when you use the app:
- App usage events (screens viewed, session duration)
- Device information (model, OS version, language)
- A Firebase Installation ID (a randomly generated, non-personal identifier)
- Approximate country/region (not precise location)
- Crash reports including device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace at the time of the crash
- These reports help us fix bugs and improve stability
Neither service collects your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.
3Advertising Identifier
The com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission is declared by a Firebase dependency. Taro CS Fundamentals does not serve advertisements. We do not use the Advertising ID for ad targeting.
If you wish to opt out, you can reset or limit your Advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
4How We Use the Data
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Fix crashes and improve stability | Crashlytics crash reports |
| Understand which topics are most useful | Firebase Analytics usage events |
| Remember your in-app preferences | Local device storage only |
5Third-Party Services
Data collected by Firebase is governed by Google's own privacy policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
Firebase Analytics data retention is set to 14 months by default in the Firebase console. You can request deletion by contacting us at the email below.
6Children's Privacy
Taro CS Fundamentals does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app contains no chat, social, or user-generated content features.
If you believe a child has inadvertently provided personal data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
7Data Security
All data transmitted by Firebase SDKs is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections to Google's servers. Local preferences are stored in your device's protected app storage.
8Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete data collected about you. Because we do not maintain our own user database, most data is held by Google under Firebase. You may:
- Request Firebase data deletion by contacting us — we will delete the Firebase project data linked to your device's Installation ID.
- Opt out of Analytics by enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in your Android device settings.
- Reset your Advertising ID in Google settings → Ads.

9Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when we add new features or third-party integrations. We will update the effective date at the top. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
